Pune, 28th October 2025: The “Status Quo” order in the Seth Hirachand Nemchand Memorial Trust (PTR No. E-1634) case has been extended until October 30, 2025. The order, originally issued on October 20, 2025, by Maharashtra’s Charity Commissioner Amogh Kaloti, directs that the current situation be maintained until further hearing.

Advocate Yogesh Pande appeared on behalf of the applicants, while Advocate Ishan Kolhatkar represented the Trust, and Advocate N. S. Anand appeared for Gokhale Landmark LLP. Both respondents raised no objection to the extension of the “Status Quo” order.

During the proceedings, Akshay Jain, CA Anand Kankaria, Lakshmikant Khabia, Swapnil Gangwal, and Mahavir Chougule were also present. The Charity Commissioner has granted time to both respondents to file their written replies by October 30, 2025, which is also set as the next date of hearing in the matter.

Speaking on the development, Akshay Jain, one of the petitioners, said, “We began this fight on May 14 with just 10 former students. For the first three months, no one believed us or came forward. But as documents started surfacing, people from all walks of life began to join the cause. With the support of the media and everyone who stood with us, this battle has now reached its final stage.”

Lakshmikant Khabia, another key member associated with the movement, added,
“We received guidance and support from Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Ministers Ajit Pawar and Eknath Shinde during this process. Our struggle will continue peacefully and through non-violent means.”
