Narhe, 29th October 2025: Another accident occurred near the Navale Bridge, a spot notorious for frequent mishaps. A truck carrying tiles from Katraj Chowk lost control while descending the slope towards the bridge and rammed into three vehicles, leaving two people injured. The entire incident was captured on a nearby CCTV camera.

According to the Sinhagad Road Police, the accident took place around 5 am when the truck, loaded with flour sacks, suddenly swerved out of control near the base of the Navale Bridge. It first struck a readymix dumper and then crashed into two cars, severely damaging all three vehicles.

Following the incident, police officers quickly reached the site and cleared the damaged vehicles with the help of a crane to restore normal traffic flow.

One of the injured, Prakash Kumar Budhan Mahto (39), a resident of Bavdhan and a native of Jharkhand, has lodged a complaint at the Sinhagad Road Police Station. Based on his complaint, police have detained the truck driver, Taufiq Israr Ahmed (32), a resident of Uttar Pradesh.

Officials said that an RTO inspection will determine whether the crash resulted from brake failure or driver fatigue. The footage of the accident, which shows the truck hurtling down uncontrollably before colliding with the vehicles, has shocked local residents and commuters who frequent the area.

The Navale Bridge stretch has witnessed several major accidents in recent years, raising concerns about vehicle speed, slope design, and enforcement of safety norms.
