Traffic Advisory: Slow Movement Expected in Central Pune for ‘Walk for Unity’ Event on October 31

Pune, 30th October 2025: The Pune City Traffic Police have issued a traffic advisory for October 31, 2025, in view of the “Walk for Unity” program being organized to mark the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Traffic movement will be regulated at a slow pace along several central city routes from 6:00 AM onwards.

The walk will begin and conclude at the Shivajinagar Police Headquarters, covering key points in the city including Modern College Chowk, Balgandharva Chowk, Junglee Maharaj Road, Shirole Lane, Shivsagar Hotel, Z Bridge, Nataraj Chowk, Deccan PMPML bus stop, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj Statue, Goodluck Chowk, Fergusson College Road, and Sant Tukaram Paduka Chowk.

According to the traffic police, half of the road along the designated route will be reserved for pedestrians participating in the walk, while the remaining stretch will be open for vehicular movement in a single direction. This is expected to cause slow-moving traffic and minor congestion in certain areas during the event.

Motorists are advised to use alternative routes wherever possible and to follow the instructions of on-duty traffic police personnel to ensure smooth movement.

The Pune City Traffic Police have appealed to citizens for their cooperation during the event.
