Heavy Traffic Jam on Pune–Mumbai Expressway Near Khandala Ghat
Lonavala, 1st November 2025: Traffic came to a standstill on the Pune–Mumbai Expressway on Saturday, with long queues of vehicles stretching for several kilometers near Khandala Ghat. Both lanes were heavily congested as vehicles moved at a snail’s pace.
Commuters reported being stuck for over an hour due to the traffic buildup. Highway police have been deployed to regulate vehicle movement and ease congestion.
Officials said the situation was caused by a sudden increase in weekend traffic and ongoing repair work in the ghat section.
