Pune District Women’s Team Wins Maharashtra State Inter-District Junior Girls Football Championship 2025

Pune, 1st November 2025: Pune District Women’s Team defeated Mumbai Team 3-1 and lifts the title of the Maharashtra State Inter-District Junior Girls’ Football Championship (Under 15) organized by the Western India Football Association (WIFA) and played at the at Mukesh Patil School Ground in Shirpur, Dhule. Pune District Team showed its undisputed dominance by winning the title of this under 15 group for the second consecutive year.

In the final match, Pune team started aggressively and achieved its first success in the tenth minute. Captain Sharvari Mane opened the team’s account by scoring a goal. Pune team took the lead and maintained accurate passing and control over the game for a long time. Arna Sindhav scored a goal in the 27th minute to increase Pune team’s lead to 2-0. In the extra time of the first half, Sharvari Mane took advantage of the opportunity and scored her second individual goal and the third for the team and took the lead by 3-0. In the second half, the Pune team failed to score, but they made sure that the team’s lead did not decrease. Shanvi Chaubey scored the only goal for the Mumbai team in the 54th minute and reduced the lead to 1-3. Until the last moment, the Pune team made sure that no more goals were scored and sealed the title.

The best player of the tournament was awarded to Pune team captain Sharvari Mane. In the edition of this tournament held in Jalgaon in November-December 2024 last year, the Pune team defeated the Mumbai team and won the title. This year too, the Pune team continued its winning tradition and retained the title.
