Pune: Reservation Draw for 41 Wards of PMC Elections to Be Held on November 11

Pune, 6th November 2025: The reservation draw for the upcoming Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) elections will be held on Tuesday, November 11, at 11 am at the Ganesh Kala Krida Manch. The process will determine the reservation of 41 wards for Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC), and women candidates.
A total of 165 corporators will be elected from these 41 wards in the forthcoming municipal polls. While the ward structure has already been finalized, the next crucial step is the allocation of reserved categories.
Initially, officials had planned to conduct the draw before Diwali, but it has now been scheduled for after the festival. The reservation process holds significant importance for political aspirants as it will decide which wards are reserved and help potential candidates plan their campaigns—either by contesting themselves or nominating women family members in women-reserved wards.
Out of the total 165 corporator seats, 50 percent—around 83 seats—will be reserved for women. Additionally, 22 seats will be reserved for Scheduled Castes, 2 for Scheduled Tribes, and 44 for OBCs. The exact wards falling under each reserved category will be determined through the draw.
According to officials, the draft reservation format will be published on November 17. Citizens can submit their objections and suggestions regarding the draft between November 17 and November 24. After reviewing the inputs received, the final reservation notification will be published.
PMC Commissioner Naval Kishore Ram clarified that objections and suggestions must be submitted in person at the Municipal Corporation Headquarters, Election Office, or respective Ward Offices. Submissions made online, through email, or on the Municipal Corporation’s website will not be considered.
