Bombay High Court Declines Urgent Hearing on Sheetal Tejwani’s Plea to Quash FIR in Pune Land Case
Pune/Mumbai, 12th November 2025: The Bombay High Court on Tuesday declined to grant an urgent hearing to Pune-based businesswoman Sheetal Tejwani, who had sought to quash a criminal case registered against her by Pune Police in connection with Bopodi land deal linked to Parth Pawar’s company. Tejwani, declared absconding by police, moved the High Court seeking immediate relief.
The petition came up before a division bench of Chief Justice Shree Chandrashekhar and Justice Gautam Ankhad. Tejwani’s counsel argued that she was being unfairly targeted and that the First Information Report (FIR) had been registered “solely based on media reports.” The lawyer also submitted that Tejwani had been portrayed as absconding even though she had not been personally served with any summons.
Her counsel further urged the bench to take up the matter urgently, citing that a high-level committee had been constituted to review another related land issue, where Tejwani’s presence was required. The court, however, refused to expedite the hearing, stating that the petition would be listed “after two to four weeks.”
The judges also observed that the petitioner could appear before the committee without difficulty.
Tejwani, an entrepreneur active in Pune’s construction and infrastructure sectors, is alleged to have held the power of attorney in a land transaction involving Amedia Enterprises LLP, a firm owned by Parth Pawar, son of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. Another partner in the firm, Digvijay Amarsinh Patil, has also been named in the case related to a parcel of government land in Mundhwa area near Koregaon Park.
Two separate FIRs have been registered as part of the wider Pune land controversy — one at Bavdhan Police Station (Pimpri Chinchwad police) concerning Mundhwa land, and another at Khadak Police Station regarding land in Bopodi. Both cases stem from disclosures made by suspended tehsildar Suryakant Yewale, accused of passing irregular land orders.
Investigators have since clarified that neither Amadea Enterprises LLP, Tejwani, nor Patil had any direct role in the Bopodi land transaction. Citing this, Tejwani moved the High Court to quash the FIR, alleging that her name was included due to “media-driven speculation” rather than any substantiated evidence.
With the court declining an urgent hearing, Tejwani’s plea is likely to be listed in the coming weeks, prolonging the uncertainty surrounding one of Pune’s most high-profile land disputes.
