Pune, 13th November 2025: A major accident involving a container truck and several other vehicles occurred on Navale Bridge near Narhe this evening, leading to a massive fire and complete closure of traffic on the Satara-to-Mumbai lane. Over 15 persons are injured and officials fear casualties also.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Himmat Jadhav said, “A serious accident took place on Navale Bridge involving a container and a few other vehicles, which later caught fire. The lane from Satara towards Mumbai has been completely closed to traffic as rescue and firefighting operations are underway.”

He added that teams are currently engaged in removing the damaged vehicles and shifting the injured to nearby hospitals, a process expected to take some time.

Issuing a public advisory, DCP Jadhav appealed to motorists to avoid the affected stretch for at least two hours. “Those traveling from Satara towards Mumbai are advised to use the old Katraj Ghat route. Please travel on this stretch only if absolutely necessary and follow the directions of traffic police personnel,” he said.

The Pune Traffic Police have urged citizens to cooperate and follow official instructions to help maintain smooth traffic flow during the ongoing rescue and clearance operation.
