Seven Dead, 15 Injured as Vehicles Catch Fire in Major Accident at Navale Bridge in Pune

Narhe, 13th November 2025: In a tragic accident on Thursday evening, seven people, including two women and a young girl, lost their lives after three vehicles caught fire following a collision at Navale Bridge on Mumbai-Bangalore highway in Narhe, Pune. The accident occurred around 5:40 pm, leading to a massive blaze that required eight fire tenders to control.

According to officials from the Pune Fire Brigade, the control room received a call about the fire at 5:40 pm. Fire tenders from Sinhgad Road, Navale, Katraj, Erandwane, the headquarters rescue van, and one rescue van and two fire engines from PMRDA were immediately dispatched to the site.

Upon reaching the spot, firefighters found two container trucks and a car engulfed in flames after the collision. The teams launched a rapid firefighting operation and managed to douse the fire after sustained efforts.

“Unfortunately, seven people died in the incident — two men from the container and two men, two women, and one girl from the car,” a senior fire official said.

Eyewitnesses at the scene told authorities that one of the large container trucks had rammed into several vehicles before catching fire, leading to multiple injuries and fatalities.

Chief Fire Officer Devendra Potphode, along with four officers and around 40 fire personnel, were present at the site and coordinated the rescue and firefighting operations.

Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar, Additional Commissioner Manoj Patil, DCP (Traffic) Himmat Jadhav and other officers have also reached the accident spot.

Officials said that 10 injured persons were taken to Navale Hospital, 10 others to Pulse Hospital and two patients were taken to Silver Birch Hospital in Narhe.

1. Mokshita Reddy (age 3)
2. Swati Navalkar
3. Shanta Dabhade (mother of Swati Navalkar)
4. Dattatreya Dabhade (father)
5. Dhananjay Koli (driver)

Health department officials have also reached the hospitals to coordinate.
