Pune, 18th November 2025: The Registration and Stamp Duty Department has granted a seven-day extension to Amadea Enterprises LLP, a firm in which Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar’s son Parth Pawar is a director, to respond to a notice over the non-payment of stamp duty worth Rs 42 crore. The company is now expected to submit its reply by November 24, officials said.

The notice, issued on November 7, pertains to the registration of nearly 40 acres of Mahar Watan land purchased by Amadea Enterprises LLP for around Rs 300 crore in Mundhwa near Koregaon Park. Under existing rules, Mahar Watan land cannot be sold, transferred or mortgaged without prior approval from the government. However, the land deal was completed and registered, triggering sharp reactions and allegations of irregularities.

Following the controversy, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar publicly assured that the transaction would be cancelled. Meanwhile, the Registration and Stamp Duty Department began examining the documentation and served a notice seeking payment of the pending stamp duty.

The deadline to respond was originally set for November 16. On November 14, Amedia sought a 14-day extension, citing the need for additional time. The department, however, granted only a seven-day extension, confirmed Joint District Registrar Santosh Hingane.

Officials said the land was registered after Amadea availed a five per cent stamp duty waiver using a letter of intent (to set up an IT Park on the land), but the company allegedly failed to pay the remaining two per cent duty as required. The power of attorney for the land is held by Sheetal Tejwani, while the document was registered at the Bavdhan sub-registrar office with the signatures of Tejwani and Amadea partner Digvijay Singh Patil.

The department has reiterated that the pending Rs 42 crore must be paid, else the recovery process will be initiated.
