Techfest IIT Bombay to Host Defence Symposium 2.0 Featuring India’s Top Military Leaders
Mumbai, 22nd November 2025: Techfest, IIT Bombay, is set to host one of its most high-impact events with the launch of Defence Symposium 2.0 under the Lecture Series 2025–26. The three-day gathering, scheduled from December 22 to 24 on the IIT Bombay campus, will bring together four of India’s most influential military leaders for in-depth discussions on national security, modern warfare, and the future of defence technology.
Leading the lineup is General Anil Chauhan, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, SM, VSM, India’s Chief of Defence Staff and the key architect behind the country’s integrated theatre command structure. As the principal military advisor to the Government of India, he is expected to share insights on defence transformation, joint operations, and long-term strategic priorities.
Joining him are three former service chiefs:
• General Manoj Pande, PVSM, AVSM, VSM, ADC, former Chief of the Army Staff
• Admiral R. Hari Kumar, PVSM, AVSM, VSM, ADC, former Chief of the Naval Staff
• Air Chief Marshal Vivek Ram Chaudhari, PVSM, AVSM, VM, ADC, former Chief of the Air Staff
Together, they bring decades of operational experience across land, sea, and air domains. Their sessions will cover India’s shifting defence landscape, cross-service cooperation, emerging threats, and the growing role of cutting-edge technologies in strengthening national security.
Techfest organisers describe this year’s symposium as one of the most significant defence leadership platforms in the country, offering students, researchers, and defence enthusiasts an opportunity to hear first-hand from the nation’s top military minds.
