Pune: District Collector Holds Positive Talks With Farmers Affected by Purandar Airport Project
Purandar, 8th December 2025: District Collector Jitendra Dudi engaged in a constructive discussion with farmers and local residents affected by the Chhatrapati Sambhaji Raje International Airport project in Purandar. The talks focused on land acquisition rates, compensation, and rehabilitation measures, with assurances that the state government is attentive to the concerns of the project-affected people. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis is expected to meet a delegation soon to discuss further decisions.
The meeting, held at the District Collectorate, was attended by a significant number of affected farmers and villagers. Officials present included Sub-Divisional Officer Kalyan Pandhare, Sub-Divisional Officer Varsha Landge, and Regional Officer Hanumant Patil from Baramati MIDC.
District Collector Dudi highlighted that the administration is committed to transparency throughout the land acquisition process and assured regular updates on crop surveys, compensation, and other measures.

Key Issues Raised by Farmers
During the discussion, several critical concerns were addressed, including:
Fair land rates and compensation
Allocation of plots for housing and rehabilitation
Tax exemptions and stamp duty concessions
Issuance of project-affected and landless certificates
Additional Floor Space Index (FSI) for rehabilitation
Land development planning through PARDA
Infrastructure planning within the project area
Naming developed airport areas after notable personalities
Crop valuation and fair pricing
Permanent employment opportunities for local youth
Reservations in acquired plots
Affordable housing for displaced residents
Financial assistance for businesses, including loan interest concessions
Educational fee concessions
The proposed Purandar airport will require the acquisition of approximately 3,000 acres across seven villages. District Collector Dudi emphasized that skill-development programs will be provided to ensure that no project-affected individual is left disadvantaged.
“The administration is committed to taking all necessary measures to safeguard the rights and welfare of the affected population,” Dudi said, reaffirming the government’s commitment to a fair and transparent process.
