Pune: Three Students Booked for Ragging After Junior Allegedly Assaulted at Ale Phata College

Ale Phata, 25th August 2026: A case has been registered against three students at the Alephata police station for allegedly assaulting, abusing and threatening a junior student as part of alleged ragging on the premises of Shri Anantrao Kanse Homeopathic Medical College and Hospital in Alephata, Junnar taluka.

According to Alephata police, the complainant is a student of the college. The incident allegedly took place around 5.30 pm on August 14 in the college campus.

As per the complaint, three students from fourth-year allegedly acted together and assaulted the junior student with their hands and kicks in front of other students. The accused allegedly abused and threatened him while ragging him, despite being aware that the incident could humiliate him for being a junior student.

Based on the complaint, Alephata police registered a case under Sections 115(2), 352, 351(2) and 351(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 4 of the Maharashtra Prohibition of Ragging Act, 1999.

Police said the accused have not yet been arrested. Preventive action is being considered in the case. Further investigation is being conducted by police constable Giri under the guidance of police inspector Vishwas Jadhav. Further investigation is underway.
