Koregaon Park, 10th December 2025: The Koregaon Park Police have arrested a 27-year-old man for allegedly defrauding multiple car owners by promising them high monthly returns on their vehicles. The police have recovered five cars from the accused, identified as Sumit Sunil Kawade.

According to the police, a case (Crime Register No. 170/2025) has been registered under sections 316(2), 318(4), and 319(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Modus Operandi
The accused, a resident of Kawadewadi, Koregaon Park, allegedly lured victims through advertisements on social media. He promised car owners attractive monetary returns if they rented their vehicles to him. Trusting these assurances, several owners handed over their four-wheelers.
