Pune: Road Left Half-Done, Water Supply Inconsistent in Mohammadwadi’s Heaven Park

Mohammadwadi, 11th December 2025: Residents of Heaven Park in Mohammadwadi continue to face daily inconvenience as the area struggles with an unfinished internal road and irregular water supply, despite repeated complaints to the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC).

For several months, locals have been urging the civic body to repair the deteriorating road, which becomes particularly difficult to navigate during the monsoon and peak traffic hours. Earlier this year, PMC officials began initial roadwork, offering temporary relief — but to residents’ frustration, the work was abruptly halted midway.

Society members say the civic workers stopped visiting the site without any formal communication. When residents approached PMC officials, they were informed that the project had been stalled due to budget constraints. “They began digging and levelling the road, and we thought the problem was finally being addressed,” said one resident. “But they abandoned it halfway. The condition of the road is now worse than before.”

The water supply situation has added to residents’ woes. Heaven Park continues to receive irregular and inadequate water, forcing many households to depend on private tankers. This has increased their monthly expenses and raised concerns about long-term viability.

Society representatives say they have filed multiple written complaints and have visited PMC offices several times, but no clear timeline has been provided. “Basic amenities like roads and water are not privileges. We are only demanding what the municipal corporation is obligated to provide,” said a member of the society committee.

With the stalled roadwork posing safety risks and the inconsistent water supply disrupting daily life, residents are urging the PMC to allocate funds and complete the pending work at the earliest. They say they are prepared to escalate the issue further if their grievances continue to be ignored.

As of now, the PMC has not issued an official statement on the delay or the future plan for infrastructure work in Heaven Park.
