Kondhwa, 26th December 2025: In a major crackdown amidst ongoing election surveillance, the Kondhwa Police Station officials have seized cash and illegal liquor worth a combined total of over ₹1.04 crore from a residence in Kondhwa Budruk.

According to the police, the raid was conducted by a police team patrolling the area for election-related security. Police Constables Amol Hirve and Keshav Hirve received a tip-off regarding illegal liquor sales at ‘Tulja Bhavani Niwas’ located in Kakade Vasti, Lane No. 2, opposite the church.

Acting on the intelligence that two men and a woman were illegally selling country-made and foreign liquor from their residence without a permit, the police team raided the premises.

Senior Police Inspector Kumar Ghadge, in-charge of Kondhwa police station, said that initially, the police discovered a stash of illegal liquor hidden in the house, including:

•Hand-made liquor (Hathbhatti) and country liquor worth approximately ₹7,760.

Discovery of Hidden Cash
During the search, officers noticed a cupboard in the house. When asked to open it, the accused hesitated and attempted to stall the police. Suspecting foul play, the police hierarchy was informed, and Election Officers were summoned to the spot, Inspector Ghadge said.
