Burglary at MG Road Clothing Store: Cash, Jackets, and Mobile Stolen; Lashkar Police Register Case

Pune, 7th January 2026: An unknown burglar broke into a ready-made garment shop on the bustling MG Road in Pune Camp, decamping with cash, expensive clothing, and a mobile phone. The incident occurred between the night of Sunday, January 4, and the morning of Monday, January 5, 2026.

Lashkar Police Station has registered an FIR based on a complaint filed by the shop owner, Rakesh Kashinath Allu (26), a resident of Somwar Peth.

According to the police complaint, Allu owns a clothing store named “Made For Him” located at Shop No. 7, Ground Floor, Chetna Apartment, MG Road, Camp.

On Sunday, January 4, Allu closed his shop around 11:00 PM and went home. When he returned the next morning (January 5) at approximately 10:30 AM to open the store, he discovered that the locks on the shutter had been broken. Upon entering, he found the cash drawer broken open and goods scattered.

The FIR states that the thief stole goods and cash with a total estimated value of ₹58,000. The stolen items include:
Cash: ₹23,000 in various denominations (₹500, ₹200, and ₹100 notes).
Merchandise: 120 jackets (leather and others) kept for sale, valued at ₹30,000 in the FIR.
Electronics: A black OnePlus 11R 5G mobile phone valued at ₹5,000.

Lashkar Police have registered a case against an unknown individual under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023:
Section 331(4): Lurking house-trespass or house-breaking at night.
Section 305: Theft.
Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) Rahul Sakharam Ghadage is leading the investigation.
