Pune, 10th January 2026: Pune continued to witness cold weather conditions as minimum temperatures stayed in single digits for the third consecutive day, despite a marginal rise over the past 24 hours.

Weather data shows that the minimum temperature was recorded at 9.5 degrees Celsius on January 8, before dropping further to 8.4 degrees Celsius on January 9, marking the coldest night of the current spell. On January 10, the temperature edged up slightly to 9.4 degrees Celsius, but remained below the 10-degree mark.

The persistently low night temperatures have led to chilly early mornings across the city. Residents reported increased cold during late-night and early-morning hours, particularly in open areas and suburban pockets. Some low-lying areas also experienced fog-like conditions during the early hours.

Meteorological officials said the marginal rise reflects only a minor variation and does not signal an end to the cold spell. They attributed the low night temperatures to clear skies and dry northerly winds prevailing over the region.

The cold conditions are expected to continue in the near term. Citizens, especially senior citizens and children, have been advised to take precautions during early morning and late-night hours.
