Balewadi, 10th January 2026: With campaigning intensifying ahead of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) elections, candidates are increasingly focusing on direct engagement with residents to understand local issues and expectations.

As part of this outreach, Ward No. 9 candidate Lahu Balwadkar interacted with residents of Golden Trellies Society in Balewadi, where senior citizens extended open support to his candidature.

During the visit, residents raised key civic concerns, including water scarcity, dependence on water tankers, basic civic amenities, and challenges faced by senior citizens. The demand to make Balewadi a tanker-free area emerged as a major issue. Responding to the concerns, Balwadkar assured residents that concrete steps would be taken to address the water supply problem. He said planned water distribution, improved infrastructure, and coordination with the civic administration would be prioritised to provide a long-term solution.

Balwadkar listened to the issues raised by residents and assured them of timely and effective redressal. Residents noted that his approach and willingness to engage in dialogue created a positive atmosphere during the interaction.

A significant highlight of the visit was the unified support expressed by senior citizens of Golden Trellies Society. They stated that they were extending their full support to Lahu Balwadkar from Ward No. 9, citing his development-oriented outlook, accessibility, and commitment to resolving civic issues.
