Pune, 14th January 2026: Student life is generally tough, having to juggle between college life, social life and for some work life. Once in a while, it’s good to treat yourselves to an outing, and this is precisely the guide for that! It’s under a budget for students and anyone who’s in Pune for a brief visit! Camp is a bustling part of Pune, with a diverse community and rich history. It is home to some of the most iconic spots within Pune, everything from chicken samosa, momo and cold slushies.

When you’re entering Camp on a weekend afternoon, there are innumerable sights. Children playing, the locals talking over tea, people out shopping and taking pictures, but the most prominent of all is the sound and aroma of the food that it’s so famous for. There are so many places to try out, I could just cover a few and some I could not go to because I was too full, or sometimes the place was too full.

Akhktar’s samosa located in Kumar Pavilion was my first stop, it’s a 70-year-old samosa shop popular for its thin and crispy cover hiding a jam-packed samosa. The fillings range between the classic aloo samosa, chicken, chicken cheese, prawn and mutton samosa. The price is quite reasonable, with the veg being 25 rupees for a piece and the chicken cheese being 50 rupees, it’s quite difficult to get any pieces during crowded days, but their shops make it fresh and piping hot, so each bite is a burst of flavour.

My next stop was Husseny Bakery located in Taboot St for their delicious cakes and breads, I ended up parcelling their vanilla and chocolate pastry and ate that with some tea at home. The pastry is sweet and makes the perfect edition with a cup of hot tea or coffee, it’s covered in butter cream which adds a nice texture to the slices. Husseny Bakery also has a vegetarian outlet right next to their original shop named Cakes ‘n’ Coffee.

The next stop is not a famous place but rather a small shop selling Middle Eastern desserts only a 5-minute walk from Husseny Bakery named SWEETZO, they sell various kinds of Kunafa cakes and Baklavas, ranging with topics like syrup, pistachios and one of their Kunafa cakes even has cheese. While they have a larger Kunafa cake for Rs. 320, their mini ones range between Rs.120 – Rs.180. The one I got was zingy and tangy with the sweet syrup, making each bite really indulgent, one mini Kunafa cake is more than enough for two people.

After eating the warm Kunafa, I wanted something fresh and cold. So, naturally, I ended up getting a strawberry ice-cream at the Great Poona Cold Drink House, it was the rejuvenating refresh I needed during the hot day. The strawberry ice cream costed me Rs. 45.

My last stop for my Camp eating trip was Kumar Rolls and Momos, a neat spot known for its affordable and filling momos and their delicious rolls. The spot is a nice hangout for youngsters and college students because of its affordability and the area which the place is in is near many places, like the fashion street, B’creamy which is also a great spot known for their shakes and ice cream. I ended up getting a plate of steam chicken momos which costed me Rs. 80, their chutney was spicy yet delicious and their momos were packed with filling.
