Traffic Diversions Announced in Camp, Kondhwa on January 21 for Pune Grand Tour 2026

Camp, 20th January 2026: The Pune Police Traffic Branch has announced comprehensive traffic regulations and diversions to facilitate the “Bajaj Pune Grand Tour 2026,” a major cycling competition organized by the Cycling Federation of India (CFI) in association with the Pune District Administration.

Major traffic diversions will be enforced specifically for Stage 2 on January 21 and Stage 4 on January 23, between 12:00 PM and 4:00 PM.

Confirming the arrangements, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Himmat Jadhav, stated, “We have authorized these temporary traffic regulations under the Motor Vehicles Act to ensure the safety of the cyclists and the smooth management of traffic flow. The routes designated for the race will be kept free of vehicles and pedestrians during the competition hours. While most roads will not remain closed for more than 30 minutes, we appeal to citizens to use the suggested alternative routes.”

DCP Jadhav further added that a complete ban on heavy vehicles will be enforced within Pune city limits on January 21 and January 23 to prevent congestion.

Key Traffic Updates

1. Stage 2 (January 21, 2026 | 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM)
Traffic will be diverted as needed on the route starting from the Ladies Club. Key affected areas include:

Closed Routes: Blue Nile Hotel to Ambedkar Statue, Golibar Maidan, Lullanagar, Khadi Machine Chowk, and areas extending toward Bopdev Ghat and Nanded City.

Exceptions: Most roads will reopen within 30 minutes of the race passing, except for the stretch from Blue Nile Hotel to ISKCON Temple and Nanded Gaon Phata to Nanded City Gate, which may see longer closures.

2. Stage 4 (January 23, 2026 | 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM)

Diversions will apply to the route starting from Radha Chowk to Balgandharva Rang Mandir. Key affected areas include:

Closed Routes: Radha Chowk, Baner Road, University Circle, Senapati Bapat Road, Law College Road, Karve Road, Sinhagad Road, Swargate, and Camp areas (MG Road, Sadhu Vaswani Chowk).

Exceptions: The route between Garware Bridge and Balgandharva Chowk will remain closed for longer durations (exceeding 30 minutes).

To help citizens plan their travel, the Pune Police have launched a live location tracking feature. Commuters can view the real-time location of the race and the status of road closures by visiting bpgt2026.punepolice.gov.in.

Citizens are requested to cooperate with the traffic police and volunteers on the ground.
