Special Trains Announced to Kolhapur, Nanded, Amravati via Pune
Pune/Mumbai, 20th January 2026: Central Railway has announced the operation of multiple special train services connecting Mumbai, Kolhapur, Nanded and Amravati, with key halts at Pune, to cater to increased passenger demand during the upcoming travel period.
As per the schedule, two special services will run between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT), Mumbai and Shri Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Terminus, Kolhapur. Train No. 01039 will depart CSMT at 00.30 hrs on January 24, 2026, and reach Kolhapur at 11.45 hrs the same day. The return service, Train No. 01040, will leave Kolhapur at 16.40 hrs on January 26, 2026, and arrive at CSMT at 04.05 hrs the next day. These trains will halt at major stations including Dadar, Thane, Kalyan, Lonavala, Chinchvad and Pune, among others in western Maharashtra.
Four special services have also been announced between Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT), Mumbai and Hazur Sahib Nanded. Train No. 01041 will depart LTT at 15.30 hrs on January 23 and 24, 2026, reaching Nanded at 04.00 hrs the following day. In the return direction, Train No. 01042 will leave Nanded at 23.30 hrs on January 24 and 25, 2026, and arrive at LTT at 13.40 hrs the next day. These services will pass through important stations such as Thane, Kalyan, Igatpuri, Nashik Road, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jalna and Parbhani.
In addition, Central Railway will operate two unreserved special train services between Panvel and Amravati. Train No. 01416 will depart Amravati at 12.00 hrs on January 22, 2026, and reach Panvel at 04.00 hrs the next day. The return service, Train No. 01415, will leave Panvel at 19.50 hrs on January 26, 2026, arriving at Amravati at 12.00 hrs the following day. These unreserved trains will halt at Pune, Daund (via chord line), Ahilyanagar, Manmad, Bhusaval, Akola and Badnera, among other stations.
The CSMT–Kolhapur and LTT–Nanded special trains will comprise AC 2-Tier, AC 3-Tier, Sleeper Class and General Second Class coaches along with guard brake vans. The Panvel–Amravati unreserved specials will consist of Sleeper/General Second Class and Second Class Chair Car coaches with guard brake vans.
Reservations for Train Nos. 01039, 01040 and 01041 are open at all Passenger Reservation System (PRS) counters and on the IRCTC website. Bookings for unreserved coaches can be made through the UTS system. Detailed halt timings are available on the Indian Railways enquiry portal and the NTES mobile application.
