Three Critically Injured in Scorpio Crash on Pune–Solapur Highway

Pune, 23rd January 2026: A tragic road accident on the Pune–Solapur Highway claimed one life and left three others critically injured after a Scorpio SUV lost control and rammed into a tree near Koregaon Mul village limits in Pune district on Friday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Gaurakh Tryambak Mane, while the injured are Samadhan Ankush Babar, Vijay Suryakant Mane and Alikesh Khan. The Scorpio vehicle was completely damaged in the impact.

According to police, the four men had travelled to Mumbai for work and were returning to Karmala late on Wednesday night. At around 6.30 am, after reaching the Hadapsar area of Pune, Vijay Mane took over driving the vehicle, with Gaurakh Mane seated beside him. Samadhan Babar and Alikesh Khan were seated in the rear.

When the vehicle reached near Prayagdham Phata and Koregaon Mul, within the jurisdiction of the Uruli Kanchan police station, the driver reportedly lost control of the Scorpio. The SUV veered off the highway and crashed into a tree.

The collision left all occupants severely injured, with Gaurakh Mane sustaining serious head and limb injuries. He later succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

On receiving information, police personnel from Uruli Kanchan police station, including constables Uddhav Gaikwad, Harish Shitole, Amol Raut and Balu Chormale, rushed to the spot. With the help of local residents, the injured were shifted to Siddhivinayak Hospital in Uruli Kanchan by Kasturi Ambulance staff, Mauli Lad, Santosh Jombade and Ratan Chavan.

While Gaurakh Mane was declared dead during treatment, the remaining three victims are undergoing medical care. Further investigation is underway.
