Pune News: 5-Year-Old Dies in Residential Society After Being Hit by Car

Loni Kalbhor, 23rd January 2026: A tragic accident claimed the life of a five-year-old child after he was struck by a car inside a residential society in Loni Kalbhor on Monday evening.

Police said the incident occurred around 5 pm at Joy Nest Society. The child, identified as Nikash Reddy, was riding his bicycle within the society compound when a four-wheeler entered the premises.

According to investigators, the driver had come to the society to drop off a friend near one of the buildings. After stopping briefly, he began to reverse the vehicle and did not notice the child behind the car.

The vehicle knocked the boy down, and he was trapped under the rear wheel. Residents alerted the driver, who immediately rushed the injured child to a nearby private hospital. However, doctors declared him brought dead.

Nikash’s father has filed a complaint against the driver, accusing him of careless and negligent driving that led to the child’s death. Loni Kalbhor police have registered a case and are probing the circumstances surrounding the incident.
