SC Allows Bail for Arunkumar Singh in Pune Porsche Accident Case
New Delhi/Pune, 5th February 2026: The Supreme Court of India has granted regular bail to Arunkumar Devnath Singh, Accused No. 10 in the Porsche car accident case, citing the principle of parity. The court noted that other similarly placed accused in the case had already been granted bail through an earlier order dated February 2, 2026.
Singh, a labour contractor, was added as an accused during the investigation. During the hearing, his counsel argued that several co-accused with comparable or more direct roles had already been released on bail. It was submitted that denying bail to Singh would amount to unequal treatment.
After examining the nature of the allegations, Singh’s role in the case, and the principle of parity, the Supreme Court allowed his bail application, subject to conditions.
The court also took note of the submission that Singh had no direct involvement in the alleged incident and had cooperated with the investigation. It observed that continued custody was not necessary at this stage.
In its order, the court reiterated that accused persons who are similarly placed should receive similar relief and that bail decisions must follow consistent legal principles.
Advocate Abid Mulani represented Accused No. 10 in the matter.
