First Konkan Hapus Mangoes Arrive in Pune, Prices Touch Rs 6,000 per Dozen
Market Yard, 9th February 2026: As the much-awaited season of the famed Konkan Hapus mango approaches, early arrivals have already begun reaching the markets. At present, only a limited supply of Hapus mangoes is coming to Pune from Ratnagiri. On Monday, at the fruit market in the Shri Chhatrapati Shivaji Market Yard, a dozen Hapus mangoes fetched a staggering price of ₹6,000.
This year, due to favourable climatic conditions, there is a strong possibility of a good Hapus mango harvest in the Konkan region. For the past month, small quantities of Hapus mangoes have been arriving in the market. From the orchard of grower Makarand Kane in Rile village near the Ganpatipule area, a box containing three dozen Hapus mangoes was sent for sale to Shri Ganesh Fruit Agency at the Market Yard. A dozen premium-quality Hapus mangoes from this lot fetched ₹6,000. The three-dozen box was purchased by trader Fashi Bagwan from the Kothrud area, informed mango trader Arvind More.
Present on the occasion were Pune Agricultural Produce Market Committee department head Balasaheb Konde; former vice-president of the commission agents’ association Yuvraj Kachi; association directors Ganesh Yadav and Raju Bhole; Hariram Juice Centre director Rambhau Mohire; and traders Raju Patange, Hamju Bhole, Kasam Bagwan, Sitaram Wadkar, Sunil Vanjari, Vitthal Mane, and Rajesh Mohol.
Owing to the favourable weather conditions this year, Hapus mango cultivation is expected to be strong, and arrivals are likely to increase in the coming weeks.
