Rashtragaurav Rath Yatra Flagged Off from Nashik to Puri to Mark Shiv Jayanti 2026
Nashik, 14th February 2026: The five-day ‘Rashtragaurav Rath Yatra’ was flagged off today from Nashik as part of the International Shiv Jayanti Festival 2026, organised by Bharat Kranti Mission to promote the legacy and governance ideals of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
The multi-state procession, featuring a symbolic chariot accompanied by a large convoy of vehicles from different states, commenced its journey towards Jagannath Puri, where the main Shiv Jayanti celebrations will be held on February 19.
According to organisers, the yatra will travel across Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh and Odisha, combining cultural processions, public lectures and historical outreach sessions at key halt points. Experts and researchers are scheduled to deliver talks on Shivaji Maharaj’s military strategy, inclusive governance, naval strength and water management systems during the journey.
On Day 1, the convoy is passing through Sinnar, Shirdi, Vaijapur, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jalna and Sindkhed Raja, where a lecture focusing on Rajmata Jijau’s values and upbringing traditions is planned.
Organisers stated that the initiative aims to present Shivaji Maharaj’s nation-building vision to a wider audience through peaceful public participation, with welcome ceremonies expected across towns along the route. The entire yatra is also being broadcast live on digital and social media platforms.
