Hinjawadi, 20th February 2026: Residents of Mélange Residences in Hinjawadi Phase 3 marked the birth anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj with a patriotic community celebration featuring cultural activities, a traditional procession, and a charitable initiative.

The programme began with a drawing competition for children, who depicted scenes from Shivaji Maharaj’s life, including his battles, leadership, and vision. Residents said the activity encouraged young participants to learn about the Maratha ruler’s legacy through art.

The highlight of the evening was a Dhol Tasha procession in which residents and children marched around the premises as rhythmic drumbeats created an energetic atmosphere. Organisers said the procession symbolised unity and pride among participants.

On the occasion, residents also donated essential grocery items to Akhil Bharatiya Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram. Children from the Ashram attended the event, adding an inclusive element to the celebration. Representatives present included Suresh Gurav, Rishabh Mutha, Yashwant Bhong, and Vidula Pendse.

The event was organised by the Shivjayanti Utsav Mélange Volunteer Team with support from members of the Chaitanya and Adishakti groups.

Residents said the celebration provided an opportunity for the community to come together, celebrate heritage, and connect with the historical legacy associated with Shivaji Maharaj.
