348 Modified Silencers Seized, 148 Vehicles Impounded in Pune Traffic Police Operation
Pune, 21st February 2026: The Pune City Traffic Police conducted a special citywide drive on Thursday against Bullet motorcycles fitted with modified silencers, taking action against hundreds of violators and collecting substantial fines, officials said.
During the campaign across Pune, traffic personnel booked 348 Bullet motorcycles found using illegal modified silencers. Authorities immediately removed and seized all such silencers from the vehicles. A total fine of ₹3,34,000 was collected in connection with these violations. Officials also seized 348 modified silencers and impounded 148 vehicles during the operation.
In addition, action was taken against other traffic rule violations detected during the drive, resulting in penalties amounting to ₹15,73,800 being deposited with the government.
DCP (Traffic) Himmat Jadhav appealed to citizens to avoid using modified silencers, stating that such alterations increase noise pollution and cause inconvenience to the public. Motorists were urged to follow traffic rules and cooperate in maintaining a safe and peaceful traffic environment.
