Smoke Scare at Pune Railway Station as Chimney Fire Breaks Out at Food Stall; No Injuries Reported
Pune, 23rd February 2026: A fire broke out at Om Sai Ram Enterprises food plaza on Platform No. 1 of Pune Railway Station at around 18:30 hrs on Monday, triggering a brief emergency response and heavy smoke in the area.
According to officials, the blaze originated in the chimney during cooking operations, leading to dense smoke emerging from the exhaust system. Initial efforts to contain the fire were undertaken using on-site fire extinguishers.
Two fire tenders reached the station at approximately 18:40 hrs and joined the firefighting operation. The fire was brought under control and fully extinguished within about 10 minutes of their arrival.
PRO Hemant Kumar Behera stated that no casualties or injuries were reported in the incident. Further details on the extent of damage, if any, were not immediately disclosed.
