Pune Records Drop in Night Temperatures Ahead of Summer Transition
Pune, 28th February 2026: February ended on a cooler note in the city, with a noticeable drop in night-time temperatures across Pune and adjoining areas. On Saturday, February 28, the minimum temperature recorded at Shivajinagar was 13.5 degrees Celsius, while the NDA weather station reported an even lower minimum of 10.6 degrees Celsius.
Although February is considered part of the winter season, the city had witnessed a steady rise in temperatures earlier in the month. The highest minimum (night) temperature was recorded at 19.2 degrees Celsius on February 22, and for most days, night temperatures ranged between 15 and 17 degrees Celsius. However, a declining trend has been observed over the past few days, culminating in Saturday’s drop to nearly 13 degrees Celsius.
Weather experts attributed the fall in temperature to a weak western disturbance that brought northwesterly winds, leading to cooler nights. They said this is likely to be the final spell of relatively cool weather before temperatures begin to rise steadily. After the weekend, summer-like conditions are expected to gradually set in.
Clear skies are forecast over Pune till March 5, with no significant change in temperatures expected in the coming days.
