Pune: Man Arrested for Allegedly Performing Obscene Acts Inside Car Near College in Shivajinagar
Shivajinagar, 6th March 2026: Police in Pune have arrested a man accused of repeatedly engaging in obscene behaviour inside a parked car near a college in the Shivajinagar area, allegedly causing distress to female students passing through the campus.
The accused has been identified as Pranav Kedar Vaze, a resident of Model Colony in Shivajinagar. According to investigators, he is the son of a civic official and is suspected of having carried out similar acts on several occasions in the past.
Officials from Shivajinagar Police Station said the arrest was made after a woman approached the police and lodged a complaint regarding the accused’s conduct, which she described as obscene and disturbing for young women studying in the area.
Acting on the complaint, police located the suspect inside the college premises. Officers reportedly pursued him and detained him before placing him under formal arrest.
During the investigation, police found that the accused had allegedly been visiting the college premises repeatedly since October 2025. According to officials, he would park his car inside the campus and remain seated in the vehicle.
Investigators allege that Vaze would lower his trousers to his knees and hold his mobile phone while looking towards female students walking nearby. The incidents are believed to have occurred multiple times between October 2025 and March 4, 2026.
Police said further investigation into the matter is underway to determine whether additional incidents occurred and if more complaints may surface.
