Pune: Two Arrested for Assaulting Security Guard at Mohammadwadi Housing Society
Pune, 20th March 2026: The Kalepadal police have arrested two men for allegedly assaulting a security guard at a housing society in Mohammadwadi after he denied them entry.
Senior Police Inspector Mansingh Patil said that the accused arrested have been identified as Arvind Vinayak Ade (21) and Gangapur Mahadev Gawai (22). Both have been taken into custody and further investigation is underway.
According to police, the incident took place around 7.40 pm on Thursday at Ganga Kingston Housing Society. The accused allegedly tried to forcibly enter the premises but were stopped by the security guard as they were not residents.
Residents said the duo had not come to meet any flat owner, prompting the guard to refuse entry. Following this, the accused allegedly assaulted the guard with a stick, leaving him seriously injured.
A CCTV clip of the incident has surfaced on social media, showing the assault. Residents claimed that the accused appeared to be under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident.
Police said they are examining the CCTV footage and statements of witnesses as part of the ongoing probe.
