Pune: Four Workers Injured in LPG Leak Incident at Eatery in Katraj
Pune, 27th March 2026: Four workers sustained minor burn injuries after an LPG gas leak triggered a flare-up inside an eatery near Bharati Vidyapeeth in Katraj on Friday evening around 6:30 pm.
The incident occurred at Hotel Nadabramha Idli, located on the ground floor of a building opposite Ichhapurti Ganesh temple. According to officials, leaked LPG gas accumulated in the kitchen area of the approximately 250 sq ft hotel before igniting, causing a sudden burst.
The injured workers suffered burns on their hands and legs. Before the fire brigade could reach the spot, local residents and police rushed the victims in an autorickshaw to a nearby Sainath Hospital for treatment.
Fire brigade personnel, upon arrival, found no active fire at the site. However, parts of the interior, including the POP structure and window panes, had been damaged due to the impact of the flare-up. Two commercial LPG cylinders were found at the spot.
