‘No Work, No Post’: Uday Samant Hints at Reshuffle in Pune Shiv Sena Ranks
Pune, 3rd April 2026: Leaders who fail to actively contribute to organisational work will be removed from their posts, Maharashtra Industries Minister and senior Shiv Sene leader Uday Samant warned during a review meeting with the party office bearers held in Pimpri on Friday.
Samant, who recently took charge as Shiv Sena’s communication in-charge for Pune and Maval, said the party would assess the performance of its office-bearers over the next one month before taking a final call. “Those who are working effectively will continue in their roles, while non-performing office-bearers will be replaced,” he said.
He further announced that the current executive body has been dissolved, and all existing office-bearers will function as interim appointees until the review process is completed.
The meeting, held at Thergaon, was attended by party leaders and representatives from Pimpri, Chinchwad, Bhosari and Maval constituencies, including members of the women’s wing, Yuva Sena and Yuvati Sena.
Samant stressed that no compromise would be tolerated when it comes to organisational work, urging party workers to take inspiration from Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. “The organisation is paramount. No individual is bigger than the party,” he said, adding that officials must closely monitor ongoing voter list verification work.
Speaking at the meeting, Shiv Sena MP Shrirang Barne called on party workers to strengthen the organisation without focusing solely on positions. “Workers should not adopt an approach of leaving if they are not given a post. Commitment to the party’s ideology must come first,” he said.
Barne added that with no major elections scheduled in the next three years, the party has an opportunity to consolidate its organisational base under Shinde’s leadership.
