Pune, 6th April 2026: After a brief spell of unseasonal rain, temperatures in Pune city and surrounding areas have begun to rise again. On Sunday (April 5), Lohgaon recorded the highest maximum temperature at 36°C, marking a noticeable increase over the past few days.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the city is likely to experience generally clear skies over the next two to three days, with partly cloudy conditions developing in the afternoon. As a result, maximum temperatures are expected to rise further, increasing the intensity of the heat.

Over the past week, unseasonal rainfall had brought temporary relief from the heat, keeping maximum temperatures around 32°C and creating relatively cooler conditions across the city and its suburbs. However, with the rain subsiding over the last two days, temperatures have once again climbed above 36°C.

On Sunday, Lohgaon recorded 36.1°C, while Shivajinagar registered 33.7°C. Chinchwad and the NDA areas reported slightly lower temperatures at 32.8°C. While cloudy conditions are contributing to humidity and daytime discomfort, cooler nights and early mornings continue to offer some relief to residents.

Meteorological officials have indicated that temperatures are likely to rise further in the coming week, bringing back stronger summer heat across the region.
