Pune: Rs 36.99 Lakh Financial Fraud Alleged at Sharad Pawar’s Nanded Public School
Khadakwasla, 8th April 2026: An alleged case of financial misappropriation has come to light at Nanded Public School operated by Vidya Pratishthan in the Nanded City area of Pune. The institution is headed by senior leader Sharad Pawar.
Police said an administrative staff member, Rajendra Anpat and his wife Ashwini, have been accused of diverting nearly ₹36.99 lakh from the school’s accounts through unauthorised online banking transactions.
According to the complaint filed by the school principal, the suspected fraud took place between November 2024 and June 2025. During this period, the accused allegedly transferred money from the school’s bank account into their personal accounts without approval.
Investigators believe the couple also tampered with official records in an attempt to hide the unauthorised transfers and prevent the irregularities from being detected.
Following the complaint, a case has been registered at the Nanded City Police Station. Police officials have begun examining financial documents and bank transaction details as part of the investigation. Further inquiries are underway to determine the exact sequence of events and whether additional individuals were involved.
