Massive Turnout at Undri Candle March as Citizens Demand Safer Roads in Pune

Mohammadwadi, 10th April 2026: A large number of residents gathered in the NIBM Annexe area of Undri on Thursday evening to participate in a candle march held in memory of Aariz Shaikh and Gracia Dora, who lost her life in Wanowrie. The event witnessed an overwhelming turnout, reflecting the community’s unity and shared grief over the tragic incidents.
Participants walked in silence, holding candles and creating a deeply emotional atmosphere across the area. The march began at Rich Street Café and proceeded towards Tribeca High Street, with more people joining in solidarity along the route.
The peaceful demonstration was organised as a tribute to the deceased, with citizens expressing sorrow and concern over the incidents. Several participants called for increased awareness, stricter regulations, and greater accountability to prevent such tragedies in the future.
Residents also emphasised the need for stronger civic responsibility and improved road safety measures. The march concluded with a moment of silence, symbolising collective mourning and a united call for change.
