Rajasthan Royals Defeat Royal Challengers Bengaluru In Six Wicket Chase
Guwahati, April 10, 2026: Rajasthan Royals (RR) registered a convincing six-wicket victory over Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in Match 16 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium on April 10. Chasing a daunting target of 202 runs, RR completed the chase in just 18 overs, riding on a blistering knock from young Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and a composed unbeaten innings by Dhruv Jurel. The win further strengthened Rajasthan’s position at the top of the points table.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru posted a competitive total of 201 for 8 in their allotted 20 overs. Rajat Patidar led the scoring with a well-made 63 off 40 balls, anchoring the innings through the middle overs. Virat Kohli provided an aggressive start with 32 off just 16 balls, while Venkatesh Iyer contributed a quick 29 off 15 deliveries towards the end, helping RCB cross the 200-run mark.
In response, Rajasthan Royals came out with attacking intent right from the start. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi turned the game on its head with a sensational innings, scoring 78 runs off just 26 balls, including 7 sixes and 8 fours. His fearless approach helped RR reach 97 for 1 in the powerplay, putting immense pressure on the RCB bowlers early in the chase.
Dhruv Jurel then took charge of the innings, playing a calm and calculated knock of 81 not out off 43 balls. He ensured there were no further hiccups, guiding the team towards the target with sensible shot selection and composure under pressure.
