Pune: Three Booked for Manhandling Constable, Creating Chaos inside Police Chowky in Vadgaon Sheri

Pune, 25 April 2026: Three persons have been booked by Chandannagar police for allegedly assaulting a police constable, creating chaos inside a police chowky and obstructing government duty in Vadgaon Sheri.

The complaint was lodged by police constable Abhijit Alhat (27) at Chandan Nagar police station.

According to police, a dispute had broken out between two groups at Badami Chowk in Vadgaon Sheri around 7.30 pm on April 23.

After receiving information about the clash, constable Alhat reached the spot to intervene and disperse the groups. Police said the accused allegedly pushed and manhandled him during the attempt to restore order.

The three were later detained and taken to the Mahatma Phule police chowky in Vadgaon Sheri.

However, police said the accused created a ruckus inside the chowky, attempted to injure themselves and damaged property.

Senior Police Inspector Nilesh Borade visited the spot after the incident. Further investigation is being carried out by Police Sub-Inspector Bharat Borade.
