Pune: Motorcyclist, Pedestrian Dead in Separate Truck Accidents in Wagholi

Wagholi, 28th April 2026: Two persons were killed in separate road accidents involving trucks in the Wagholi area on April 25, police said.

In the first incident, a 45-year-old motorcyclist, Somnath Bhagwan Gaikwad, a resident of Kolwadi in Haveli taluka, died after a speeding truck rammed into his two-wheeler on the Kesanand–Kolwadi road at around 9 pm. He sustained serious injuries and later succumbed during treatment.

Based on a complaint filed by his brother, Uttam Gaikwad (54), the Wagholi police have registered a case against the truck driver. Police Sub-Inspector Vaijinath Kedar is investigating the matter.

In another incident in the Katkewadi area of Wagholi, a 20-year-old pedestrian, Navnath Vishnu Manjoolkar, a resident of Gadevasti, was killed after being hit by a speeding truck.

A complaint in this case was filed by his cousin, Kishor Pandit Pawar (34), at the Wagholi police station. A case has been registered against the truck driver in connection with the incident.
Further investigation is underway in both cases.
