Solapur-Bound Passengers Shifted by Special Deccan Queen After Pune Derailment; Around 1,000 Onboard

Pune, 28th April 2026: In the aftermath of the derailment involving the Vande Bharat Express 22225 CSMT–Solapur at Pune Railway Station, railway authorities arranged a special service to evacuate stranded passengers during the early hours of Tuesday.

According to PRO Hemant Kumar Behera, a special Deccan Queen Express departed at 1:15 AM for Solapur, carrying passengers of Train 22225 along with other travellers who were stranded at the station due to service disruptions. Approximately 1,000 passengers were onboard the train.

He stated that the train will halt at designated stations en route to Solapur.

Behera further added that arrangements for food and water were made for passengers to ensure their comfort during the journey.

Railway officials continue to oversee restoration work and manage train operations following the derailment incident.
