Pune: 3-Year-Old Boy Sexually Assaulted and Murdered in Chakan; Accused Labourer Arrested

Chakan, 2nd May 2026: In yet another incident of child sexual assault, a three-year-old boy was sexually assaulted and murdered in the Khalumbre area of Chakan.

The deceased, son of a daily wage worker from the area, was found locked inside a suitcase in a closed room on Friday evening. According to police, the victim’s mother had gone to work when her son went missing. After searching for him in the nearby areas, she approached the police for help.

The police conducted a search and broke open a room that appeared suspicious. The boy’s body was found locked inside a suitcase in a pool of blood. Police said that the accused allegedly sexually assaulted the boy and then cut his throat to kill him. Later locked his body in the suitcase to destroy evidence.

A labourer from Bihar who lived in the room was reported missing. Police launched an investigation and, using technical analysis, traced him at Pune Railway Station, where he was planning to flee to his hometown.

Police said the accused has been arrested and has confessed to the crime. Further investigation in the matter is underway.
