CBSE Reduces Fee for Class 12 Answer Sheet Re-Evaluation; Applications Begin Today
New Delhi, 19th May 2026: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has started the application process for re-evaluation, verification, and rechecking of Class 12 answer sheets. Students who are dissatisfied with their marks or suspect errors in evaluation can now apply online within the prescribed dates by paying the required fee.
CBSE recently declared the Class 12 Board Examination Results 2026, recording an overall pass percentage of 85.20%. Out of 17,80,365 registered students, 15,07,109 students passed the examination, while 1,63,800 students were placed in the compartment category.
According to the board, 94,028 students scored above 90%, while 17,113 students secured more than 95% marks.
Application Process for Re-Evaluation
CBSE has opened the process for obtaining scanned copies of evaluated answer sheets, verification of marks, and re-evaluation of specific questions.
Students who believe their answer sheets were incorrectly evaluated or contain totaling errors can apply online and review their scanned copies through the official portal.
Important Dates and Fees
1. May 19 to May 22, 2026
Students can apply online for obtaining scanned copies of their answer sheets by paying Rs 100 per subject. After submitting the application, the scanned copy will be made available on the student’s login dashboard for review.
2. May 26 to May 29, 2026
After reviewing the answer sheets, students who find discrepancies or totaling errors can apply for verification by paying Rs 100 per subject. The board will examine the discrepancies and make corrections if required.
3. Re-Evaluation of Specific Questions
For rechecking or re-evaluation of any particular question, students will have to pay Rs 25 per question.
CBSE stated that if any changes are made after re-evaluation or verification, a revised marksheet will be issued. Students will be required to submit their previously issued marksheet to receive the updated one.
