Pune: Mohammadwadi Residents Seek Action Over Alleged Manipulation of Amenity Plot Records
Reported by Shoaib Tadvi
Mohammadwadi, 20th May 2026: Allegations of manipulation of survey records related to the amenity plot of Ganga Kingston in Mohammadwadi have surfaced after a complaint was submitted to the Urban Development (UD) Secretary at Mantralaya in Mumbai.
The complaint, submitted by Jaymala Dhankikar, states that directions had earlier been issued by the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) and the Urban Development Department to investigate the alleged role of the Garden Superintendent of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) in the matter.
According to the complaint, the alleged manipulation of survey numbers linked to the amenity plot amounts to misuse of official position and violation of statutory norms. The letter also alleges falsification and tampering of official records and seeks departmental as well as criminal action against Ashok Ghorpade.
Speaking on the issue, Jaymala Dhankikar said, “This issue concerns transparency and accountability in matters related to public land and official records. A proper inquiry is necessary so that the facts come before the public.”

Responding to the allegations, Ashok Ghorpade, Chief Garden Superintendent of PMC, denied any manipulation of survey numbers and said that the garden and amenity plot already fall under PMC jurisdiction.
“Mixing or changing of survey numbers cannot usually happen. This is an old matter from around 10 years ago. No manipulation has taken place.
Earlier, residents were only demanding a garden there because garbage aggregation work was being carried out at the site. Later, the garden was developed. Even Ajit Dada had come for the inauguration of the garden. If residents have any issue, they should submit a written complaint to me and I will look into it,” Ghorpade said.
Nadeem Imandar, resident of Ganga Kingston, said, “Survey numbers are supposed to remain precise and official. Allegedly changing survey numbers and mixing up records of different plots is a very serious matter. If public land records are manipulated in such a manner, it creates confusion, raises suspicion of misuse and damages public trust in the administration. Such alleged actions should be thoroughly investigated.”
The matter is expected to be reviewed further by the concerned state authorities.
