Pune: Trial in Nasrapur Minor Girl Assault and Murder Case to Begin From May 21

Pune, 20th May 2026: The trial in the case related to the alleged sexual assault and murder of a minor girl in Nasrapur will begin on Thursday, May 21, before a special court.
The case will be heard on a day-to-day basis in the court of Special Judge M. G. Chavan to ensure a speedy trial.
A separate court has been established for the hearing and has been granted the status of a special court. The accused will be produced before the court under tight police security arrangements.
Officials said the proceedings will be conducted in-camera to protect the privacy of the victim’s family and to ensure confidentiality in view of the sensitive nature of the case.
To effectively present the prosecution’s case, the state government has appointed Advocate Ajay Misar as the special public prosecutor.
Considering the seriousness of the crime, Pune Rural Superintendent of Police Sandeep Singh Gill took the initiative to ensure that the chargesheet was filed within 15 days. Police Inspector Vijaymala Pawar is investigating the case.
After completion of the investigation, police submitted a chargesheet of nearly 1,100 pages before the court. Officials said the investigation was completed and the chargesheet filed within just 14 days.
