IMD Forecasts Light Rain in Pune Today
Pune, 25th May 2026: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and light rainfall in Pune city on Monday (May 25), offering possible relief to residents struggling with rising humidity and sultry weather conditions.
Although the intensity of the summer heat has reduced slightly, increased humidity levels have left Pune residents sweating over the past few days. The expected rain is likely to bring temporary respite from the uncomfortable weather.
According to IMD data, Pune and surrounding areas recorded a drop of around 2 degrees Celsius in maximum temperature on Sunday. However, the minimum temperature increased by nearly 3 degrees Celsius.
The city recorded a maximum temperature of 35 degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature of 25.4 degrees Celsius on Sunday.
Weather officials said both maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to rise marginally on Monday. The maximum temperature is likely to touch 36 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature is expected to remain around 25 degrees Celsius.
The sky is expected to remain mainly clear during the morning hours, while cloudy conditions may develop in the afternoon and evening. Light rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning is also likely in parts of the city and nearby areas.
The IMD has further predicted a slight rise in maximum temperatures from Tuesday (May 26) onwards.
