Pune: Kharadi Police Bust Fake Dubai Call Center Scam Operated from Ahmedabad, Rs 70 Lakh Fraud Exposed

Kharadi, 25th May 2026: In a major crackdown, the Pune Police’s Kharadi Police Station has busted an illegal call center operating out of Ahmedabad, Gujarat, which was being used to defraud a Pune-based complainant of ₹70.85 lakh.
The scammers operated under the guise of setting up a lucrative call center project and securing business contracts. Police have arrested two key suspects and seized operational equipment and documents valued at ₹1.98 lakh.
According to police officials, the case was registered on May 25, 2026, at the Kharadi Police Station (Crime Register No. 138/2026) under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, including:
Section 318(4) (Cheating)
Section 319(2) (Cheating by personation)
Section 336(2) & 336(3) (Forgery)
Section 338 (Forgery for purpose of cheating)
Section 340(2) (Using as genuine a forged document)
Section 3(5) (Joint liability / Act done by several persons in furtherance of common intention)
Section 66(D) of the Information Technology Act (Punishment for cheating by personation by using computer resource)
The Scam and Modus Operandi
The complainant was lured by individuals representing themselves as executives of a Dubai-based company named “Citrix Project Development Consultant LLC, Dubai.” The accused induced the complainant to invest ₹70,85,553 to purchase necessary infrastructure and set up a call center, promising to feed the center with consistent, high-paying projects. However, after pocketing the money, the accused failed to deliver any projects or services and cut off contact, defrauding the victim of his entire investment.
Under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Somay Munde (Zone 7, Pune City), Senior Police Inspector Sanjay Chavan of Kharadi Police Station formed a dedicated investigation team led by Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) Rahul Kolpe.
Through meticulous technical analysis and skillful interrogation, the police established that the suspects were contacting the complainant using VoIP/virtual numbers to pretend they were operating from Dubai. In reality, the suspects had established an unauthorized, fake entity named “PromoteUp HR Solution” (also operating under the name Citrix Project Development Consultant LLP) based in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, from where they orchestrated the entire fraudulent operation.
Police Raid, Seizures, and Arrests
Acting on precise intelligence, the Pune Police team traveled to Ahmedabad and raided the clandestine call center. During the operation, the team seized electronics and documents worth ₹1,98,000, which includes:
Computer CPUs and Laptops
Mobile phones
CCTV DVR machines
Highly incriminating scripts, draft templates, and correspondence logs used by the scammers under the fake name of Dubai-based “Citrix.”
The police arrested two suspects at the scene:
Khushi Kaushal Parmar alias Sanvi Shah (an alias used to target victims), a resident of Sardar Chowk, Jodhpur, Rajkot, Gujarat.
Tushar Maheshkumar Talpada, a resident of Vishal Residency, Odhav, Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
Both suspects posed as representatives of “Citrix Project Development Consultant LLP” and “PromoteUp HR Solution.” A search is actively underway to trace and arrest other accomplices linked to the interstate syndicate.
The Investigation Team
The successful raid was conducted under the direct guidance of Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar, Joint Police Commissioner Sanjay Darade, Additional Police Commissioner (East Regional Division) Manoj Kumar Patil, DCP (Zone 7) Prashant Amrutkar (additional charge), and Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP, Loni Kalbhor Division, holding additional charge of Kharadi) Nutan Pawar.
The operational team was led by Senior Police Inspector Sanjay Chavan, alongside Assistant Police Inspector (API) Ravindra Godse, PSI Rahul Kolpe, and police personnel Shrikant Shende, Mahesh Nanekar, Manoj Kharpude, Sahebrao Gundale, Suraj Jadhav, Ashok Kedar, Shrikant Kodre, Vilas Kedari, Mahesh Borade, as well as women police constables Pratibha Pawar and Manisha Tathe.
