PCMC Invites ITI plumbers for MNGL Domestic Gas Pipeline Work
Pimpri Chinchwad, 28th May 2026: The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation has invited applications from ITI-trained plumbers and skilled professionals for domestic gas pipeline connection work being carried out by Maharashtra Natural Gas Limited (MNGL) in the city.
The initiative follows a recent meeting between senior MNGL officials and PCMC Commissioner Vijay Suryavanshi, during which the company sought support from the civic body to address the growing requirement for skilled plumbers for household pipeline connections.
Following the request, a guidance session and recruitment drive was organised at the Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Morwadi, under the guidance of Additional Commissioner Kuldeep Jangam and in coordination with MNGL officials.
Current and former students from the plumbing trade were invited to participate in the programme. During the session, ITI principal and department head Shashikant Patil briefed students about career opportunities in the sector and highlighted the increasing demand for skilled manpower in city gas distribution projects.
MNGL senior manager Vasudev Gursali informed participants that selected candidates would receive two days of training from the company, followed by on-site practical exposure under experienced plumbers. He said demand for trained plumbers in City Gas Distribution (CGD) companies is expected to rise significantly in the coming years, creating large-scale employment opportunities.
Selected plumbers will work under authorised MNGL vendors and will be involved in meter installations, copper piping, kitchen conversions and related domestic gas connection work.
Officials said candidates working consistently in the sector could eventually become independent entrepreneurs and may earn more than Rs 70,000 per month depending on the volume of work undertaken.
Around 40 to 50 plumbing students from the institute expressed interest in pursuing careers in the field during the recruitment drive, officials said. The institute has appealed to other interested plumbers to contact the ITI for further details regarding the programme.
