Pune, 30th May 2026: Six prosecution witnesses recorded their testimonies before the court on Friday in the case involving the sexual assault and murder of a three-and-a-half-year-old girl in Nasrapur. The witnesses included the victim’s parents, panch witnesses who conducted the spot panchnama, and eyewitnesses who allegedly saw the accused with the child.

The incident occurred on May 1 in the Nasrapur area of Bhor taluka. Police subsequently arrested the accused, Bhimrao Prabhakar Kamble (65), in connection with the case.

Charges against Kamble were framed on Thursday in the court of Special Judge S.R. Salunkhe. The prosecution has submitted a list of 82 witnesses before the Special Court for the trial.

On Friday, Special Public Prosecutor Ajay Misar examined the first six witnesses, while Advocate Himmatrao Jadhav, appearing for the defence, conducted their cross-examination.

The testimonies of the victim’s mother and father were recorded, along with those of the panch witnesses involved in the preparation of the spot panchnama. According to the prosecution, CCTV footage allegedly showed Kamble leaving the area while carrying the child. Two eyewitnesses who reportedly saw the accused with the victim also deposed before the court.

“Orders have been issued to conduct the trial on a fast-track basis. Following the framing of charges, the examination and cross-examination of witnesses will continue. Every effort will be made to ensure the case is disposed of expeditiously and that the accused receives appropriate punishment if found guilty,” said Special Public Prosecutor Ajay Misar.

Meanwhile, the prosecution has filed an application before the Special Court seeking the addition of charges related to the destruction of evidence in the case.
